AN ANOINTING TO RULE: BY MICHAEL BROD AN ANOINTING TO RULE: BY MICHAEL BROD

Jesus said that you should receive power, after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and you shall be witnesses of Him unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8

We have received this anointing and have been empowered to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, and to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

We have been faithful to exercise our first anointing but we have a second anointing that we must fulfill. We have been called to rule and reign with Christ.

Revelation 3:21 To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.

To be an over comer is the character and the nature of sonship. We have progressed on the road to transformation by the exercise of our faith that the first anointing provided, but we have received a second anointing that we must honor and bring forth into manifestation.

This pattern of a second significant anointing appears throughout the Word. Jacob is an example; in his first experience God promised to be with him; to return him to his land and Jacob went forth in faith. Twenty-one years later at his second anointing his name was changed to Israel and he was granted power with man and God. Samuel anointed David as a young man:

1Samuel 16:13 …"and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward."

David went forth in faith and did exploits but Saul still reigned, the flesh still ruled. But when David was anointed king, he brought up the Ark. We are anointed to come by a way that we have not known before to establish the kingdom of God. We are declaring that we are motivated by the vision that God has provided in His Word.

God intends to dwell with a living people who will manifest His glory for God has purposed to show forth the fullness of His workings gathered in one place on earth that stands apart from the corruption of the world. It was manifest first in the Tabernacle of Moses, and then in the man Jesus Christ now we await the appearing of the sons of God; a people the body of Christ that are the tabernacles of God Almighty on earth.

God causes faith to arise in us because He gives us hope. Above all God intends for us to function in Him, in His kingdom by divine authority and dominion. This is what we pursue, for God is imparting His divine nature to a people who have escaped the corruption of this world. He is forming in us the image of His Son. This is the high calling of God for which we reach. Paul ran his race to attain it:

Philippians 3:12,14 "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus; I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

That perfection, that high calling of God, is to be manifested on this earth by a living people who receive the nature of God and come into "a more excellent way." God has destined a people to rule this creation with Him; to have dominion and move by His authority. This is the meaning of 'we shall sit with Him on His throne'.

This then, is a more excellent way. It is having the substance and nature of God manifest from within us. It is about being the expression of Jesus Christ in this earth. It is being the "body of Christ" operating under Jesus, the head of the body.

We know that the fullness of God is there to be attained by a living people and so we hope for that which is yet unseen. We ourselves do groan for more of it to be uncovered and revealed to us.

In the beginning God said: Genesis 1:26 Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion.

God intended for us to have authority over the things that He had created. It is now being fulfilled in Jesus Christ. We see the day approaching when we, as sons see all things under our feet. This is the promise given to us as sons of God; that we shall eat of the hidden manna. And we shall deliver the creation from the bondage of death and corruption through Jesus Christ our Lord.
