EVEN AS WE ARE KNOWN: BY MICHAEL BROD EVEN AS WE ARE KNOWN: BY MICHAEL BROD

We understand that we are the temples of the Holy Spirit, we are the Body of Christ. His life flows in us as a branch connected to the vine. We are the fruit of the vine. His life manifests within us and is His means to transform the consciousness of the world. We are inspired by vision and the promises of God. We are guided by His Spirit. The dwelling that God seeks in the creation is established in conjunction with our determination and commitment. That is what makes it complete. We are engaged heart, soul, mind and strength. He has given us the desire of our hearts. We seek to know even as we are known.

Each of us is a living soul and we have received great and precious promises that by them we can manifest His divine nature, but we are not our own for we have been purchased with a price – the precious life and blood of Jesus Christ. We are His church, Christ’s body, and the fullness of Him that fills all in all. “He is the head of the body, the church: He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the pre-eminence. Colossians 1:18 The Church is related to Christ in His resurrection: "In that He is the firstborn from the dead." He is the Head of the Body, the Church in His resurrection. We have been raised with Him and seated in heavenly places. We believe that God will also quicken our mortal bodies. The resurrection is a voice that continues to speak to our souls. We seek to know Him and the power of His resurrection.

The Church is His Body. The body completes the picture. From the very beginning we have an image of the Body in type and shadow in Adam and Eve. The woman was taken out of the man and then brought to the man to complete him, and in like manner is the Church. We were birthed and taken out of Christ and then brought to Christ to complete Him. We are the fullness of Him that fills all in all. All was brought forth from nothing so the creation was, in effect, taken out from the Father and presented back to Him. And God saw everything that He had made, and behold it was very good. Genesis 1:31 It shall be presented to Him again – when it is His true dwelling – His complement – that He may be all in all. “Having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth — in Him. In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” Ephesians 1:9-11

As the Body, we are joint-heirs and enjoy our inheritance in Him and with Him. All judgment is given to Jesus Christ. Jesus is the revealer, the revelation and the ability to understand and apply the revelation. We are complete in Him. It is worth repeating that He is the revelation that we seek. He is the express image of the Father. He is the one that reveals Himself. All that the Father has is His - that is why He will take from what is His and reveal it to us. He provides the ability to understand and apply that which He reveals of Himself. He is the knowledge, the knower and that which is known. He will enable us to know even as we are known. “For though now we see through a glass darkly; though we shall see face to face: and though we know in part; we shall know even as also we are known.” 1Corinthians 13:12

Ephesians 3:17-19: “If Christ dwells in your hearts by faith; you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.” Christ dwelling in the heart of a believer leads to the appreciation that we are joined to all saints." The Body is His fullness and we are to be filled with His fullness in all things. We shall further discover and access the power that is in the body for the edification and growth of the Church in Christ.

Ephesians 2:10 “We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.” God plans to make visible that which is eternal, but is unseen except by revelation, spiritual sight and understanding. We are invited to participate with God in the joy of creation. We are empowered (anointed) to experience the creative imperative of God’s own existence. God desires to manifest. It is evident that He has determined to manifest because He has done so. We are granted the ability to contain in a measure, God’s desire to be made manifest. His desire appears in us as a motivating force so that we are not moving in our own strength and yet we are continually being drawn towards the goal.

The Word becoming flesh established the possibility for many to enter into His relationship to the Father. We seek to know as we are known. Eternal life is in the Son, and was manifested in His humanity. It comprised His human life. He expressed the nature of His Father who is in heaven on earth. This is the life that He shares with those that are born of His Spirit. We know that we have been joined to Him to bring forth the world to come. Jesus said: “All things that the Father has are mine: therefore I say, that the Spirit shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you.” John 16:15 We do not have any problem believing that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Jesus Christ bodily, fully revealing the character and nature of God. As we seek to grasp and fully believe that the Church is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all we will see that the miraculous transformation that we envision is not beyond our attainment. The vision becomes the present as we live it. Our life becomes the manifested substance of things hoped for.
