THE LORD WILL RESTORE AND HEAL: BY MICHAL BROD THE LORD WILL RESTORE AND HEAL: BY MICHAL BROD

Recently, I when fellowshipping with a member of our body in the word of God; Several verses from Jeremiah 30 became for us present truth for the spirit spoke them to our hearts. “I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the LORD, because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.” Jer.30:17 Zion speaks of the presence and indwelling of God with a people. We as believers value the indwelling of the Lord and His appearing. We seek to make a home for God on earth and manifest His life. The Spirit is revealing what God is looking for; therefore we have set our eyes upon the goal of His high calling in Christ Jesus. He is preparing sons and daughters in His image and likeness. He is preparing a people who will overcome "by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony" Revelation 12:11 God is building a dwelling for Himself, a building made of living stones “a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” 1Peter 2:5 It is a temple "not made with hands." God has drawn us by His spirit and He is preparing us as a bride adorned for her husband.

"This is what the LORD says: I will restore the fortunes of Jacob's tents and have compassion on his dwellings”. Jer.30:18 John expressed it in this way: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”

God intends our soul to prosper. He has “blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6

Our hearts and minds are learning to live in expectation. We wait upon the inward and full appearing of Jesus Christ, which we believe that God will bring about in His time. We have seen that we can reckon ourselves crucified with Christ. To live; and yet not us, but to acknowledge and experience that Christ lives in us: and that the life which we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us, and gave Himself for us. Galatians 2:20 The identity that we are looking for is in Him. It transforms us as we seek to know Him. “And this is the record that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of God has not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God.” 1John 5:11-13 He is the foundation of our existence. “God is in one mind, and who can turn him? And what his soul desires, even that He does.” Job 23:13 He has determined to have a people who will serve Him and express Him. A people established in the truth of His existence and nature.

We can see how the Spirit of God works in our midst to bring about our transformation. Every aspect of creation gives expression to the glory with which God has endowed it. God's thoughts are not are thoughts, but they are not beyond comprehension for those who have received the Holy Spirit. In the beginning, even before the world was created, God had a definite thought – that He would have a people conformed to the image of His Son. That is a primary thought of God. It is at the center of our present experiences, our trials, our suffering, which at this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. We are a people that God will heal and restore. It will be as Jeremiah declared: “From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained. Their children will be as in days of old, and their community will be established before me; I will correct all who trouble them.” Jer.30:19-20

It is God’s intention that Jesus Christ be glorified and we with Him. “When Christ who is our life appears, then we also will appear with Him in glory.” Col. 3:4 It involves the revealing of the sons of God and the deliverance of the creation from the bondage of corruption. The creation will come into its own identity as we appear in Him and obtain our true identity. In Him alone is it possible, therefore we have been called and appointed to take off the old man and put on Christ. It is God’s intention that we be conformed to the image of His Son.

Psalm 135:6 states: “Whatever God desired, He did.” It is His desire that all creation come to the awareness that all individual existence is dependent on Him - so that He may be all in all. God has a determined purpose. At the heart of everything in him, is the people of God, the "called according to His purpose." Our identity is in Christ but we are in the world. God has chosen His people as His dwelling place, a tabernacle for the Spirit of the Lord. God's thoughts are towards us because we have been chosen to show forth His glory. The whole creation is gathered with us, according to Romans 8:22, and is said to be groaning in travail waiting for the revealing of the glory of God in the manifestation of the sons of God.

Knowing that we are called, we pursue Him, “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body, according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Philippians 3:20-21 We have an assurance that cannot fail, because our hope is founded on God’s own desire and good pleasure. “You shall be My people, And I will be your God.” Jer.30:22
